Tips for Delivering Value and Encouraging Innovation

If your team is stuck in the “agile zombie mode,” it’s time to take ownership of the process and start fresh.

Features are often delivered in large batches without the mandate to experiment. While teams may still work in sprints, nothing new reaches the customers after each sprint.

Fear of uncertainty often leads to creating processes and limiting responsibilities.

Begin by identifying the problems and adding processes that add value to the business.

Keep things simple by removing unnecessary steps and focusing on delivering value to the customer. Remember, delivering value doesn’t mean releasing a product or feature to the public. If something is valuable but has yet to be shared, it’s not benefiting anyone.

After work is shipped, the team needs more contact with support, customer success, and sales.

Failure is uncertain and scary, yet when teams do everything to prevent losses, they also reduce innovation.

Agility is a mental shift toward producing value beyond feature development.
