The core of creativity

A lot of the time, a deep understanding of a particular topic generates creative thoughts. Einstein was not creative in any and every field he came across. No, he was innovative in physics because he knew so much about physics.

The reason is that it’s the combination of the ideas, the associations we follow, and the new varieties we make which are the core of creativity. At the very core lies the combination between ideas and new associations in a specific field.

Writing is not the outcome of thinking; it is the medium in which thinking occurs.

If you want to learn and remember something long-term, write it down. If you’re going to understand an idea, you must translate it into your own words.

Taking notes is one principle that stands the test of time despite considerable changes in the underlying technology.

Writing things down opens the door to understanding the essential nature of the creative process.
