One Minute Management
People Who Feel Good About Themselves Produce Good Results.[¹]
Align Expectations
Productivity is more than just the quantity of work done. It is also the quality. If you can’t explain what should happen, you don’t have a problem yet. You’re just complaining.
A problem only exists if there is a difference between what is happening and what you desire. [¹]
Plan goals as a team
Describe goals briefly and clearly. Have people write out each of their goals, with due dates, on a single page.
Encourage people to take a minute to look at what they’re doing, and see if their behavior matches their goals.
Ask them to review their most important daily goals, which take only a few minutes.
A team is effective when everyone is clear about goals and what good performance looks like.
Praise people as soon as possible
Let people know what they did right — be specific.
Tell people how good you feel about what they did right and how it helps.
Pause for a moment to allow people time to feel good about their actions. Celebrate together, and enjoy the process.
