Improve Quality with Two Approaches

--

Technical quality teams should communicate and provide concise documentation.

They should identify and address potential problems and build relationships with other teams. Software metrics, quality gates, CI/CD, and user feedback can be used to assess and improve technical quality. Balancing technical and business needs is key. As engineering leaders, maintain high technical quality while focusing on core business. Adopt best practices to improve quality and measure technical quality to guide deeper investment.

Two approaches to improve quality are adopting a quality program and establishing a technical quality team.

Communicate program goals to each team and provide dashboards to track their progress. Set clear team goals and send programmatic nudges to anyone who needs to catch up.

Set targets for each quality metric and watch progress toward achieving these targets.
